LOCATION
The land is located between Gatesheath and Newton on the outskirts of Tattenhall, previously forming part of Manor Farm.
DESCRIPTION
The land totals 129.95 acres (52.59 Hectares) and is split over two blocks as follows, all down to grass.
The main block totals 105.86 acres (42.84 ha), the smaller field to the west of the old railway line totals 24.09 acres (9.75 ha).
AGREEMENT
The land is available on a Contract Farming Agreement for a fixed term, commencing from mid June 2026 and expiring on 31.12.2029. The term is for 3 .5 years, after the first cut grass 2026 has been taken.
ACCESS
The land benefits from several roadside access points for both parcels off Newton Lane and Chester Road.
CROPPING
Applicants are permitted to crop the land as grassland only. There is no water available.
CONTRACTORS ROLE
The Contractor will be responsible for carrying out the farm policy, under direct instruction from the Farmer. The Contractor is to provide all labour and machinery from their own business to carry out the following tasks:
- Fertiliser spreading
- Rolling
- Mowing and foraging
- Ferrying
- Cultivations, where necessary
- Reseeding
- Spraying
The contractor will be expected to offer a first return to the farmer as part of the tender. An annual reconciliation will be undertaken by the farmer in order to finalise all figures.
