DEFRA announces up to £25,000 farm equipment and technology grant!

Announced on 7 May 2025, DEFRA have stated that £46.7m is now available to boost profitability of farmers, enabling them to cut costs and increase efficiency.

Farmers across England will be able to apply for grants worth up to £25,000 each from 29 May 2025.

Popular items eligible include:

  • Tractor powered electric desiccators for weed control (e-weeders)
  • Robotic drill and guided hoe
  • Inter row hoes and weeders (and other precision farming equipment)
  • Robotic slurry collectors
  • Flow rate monitoring equipment
  • Low-emission slurry spreaders such as dribble bars
  • Mobile cattle and sheep handling systems

The “Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF)”  open from 29 May to 10 July, will be available for grants which help boost productivity, managing slurry and improving animal health and welfare.

 

Furthermore, from 2 June 2025, the £5m Investor Partnerships Competition will be open.  This is a Government funded scheme which promotes cutting edge technology to the market.  This enables farmers to access state of the art innovation and technology.
